Clock |
The clock is a microchip that regulates the timing and speed of the computer. The microchip includes a crystal that vibrates at a certain frequency when electricity is applied to it, the shortest length of time in which a computer can perform a task is one clock-one vibration of the clock chip. |

CMOS or complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor is a term that describes how the CMOS chip is manufactured. The CMOS retains crucial information about the hardware used by the PC, it does this because it is powered by a small battery. |
