Switching between windows
Switching between windows if done correctly will aid you in you work. The Task window that is currently active always has its title bar highlighted. If you have more than one window open on the desktop, click anywhere inside a window that is not active to activate it or switch to it. The windows that are not active will have their title bar slighted shaded. This is shown graphically below:

Another method of task switching or window switching is to use the taskbar at the bottom of every screen. Every window that is open has a button created automatically on the taskbar. This means that for instance if the window you want to switch to is overlaid with others and you cannot see it or get to it all you have to do to make it active and view it is to click on the button on the task bar that relates to the window you want, and it once you have clicked on the button the required window will appear on top of all the other windows and be active.

A quick and handy hint when trying to switch between windows is to press the Alt and Tab keys together to switch between all the windows that are open. To do this press and hold the Alt key and then press the Tab key once and you will see a box with a series of icons in it. If you press the Tab key again whilst still holding down the Alt key a square will mover from icon to icon them when you let go of both Alt and Tab the selected icons window will become the active one. Try it.

Resizing a window

As long as a window is not maximised or minimised it can be resized. It is sometimes useful to be able to resize a window order to arrange several windows on the screen at any one time. It is also down to personal preference so you can move and resize windows on your desktop to the way you prefer.

To resize a window, firstly place the mouse arrow anywhere on the edge of a window (including the corners) and it should change to a double headed pointer. When the arrow head has changed to a double headed arrow, press down and hold the left mouse button, whilst still holding the left mouse button down drag the mouse in a desired direction. This will cause a window outline to appear and drag along with the mouse arrow. When you have the window outline in the size desired let go of the left mouse button and the window will resize Into the outline that was previously shown.
